Circus Amok performs September 4, 2022

I was walking to Fairway one Sunday afternoon and as I reached the corner of Columbus Avenue and 73rd Street, I heard some strange, lively, compelling music. I went to find out what it was, and I saw a group of people twirling around with flowerpots on their heads. It turned out to be the end of a performance by Circus Amok. There was another performance at 4, so I hurried through my shopping, grabbed a little lunch, and ran back to catch the performance. It was the usual mayhem, plus a moving tribute to Urvashi Vaid (10/8/1958 - 5/14/2022), who made the ACT UP Oral History Project possible, among many other accomplishments.
